So far GoWest has been nothing but a disappointment
Go West was supposed to be the big split between gMS and kMS as kMS was moving away from Reboot/Heroic balancing. A huge relief for most Heroic players, because of the dreaded changes and made Heroic players look forward to upcoming patches again. Myself included, but lately to me personally it's getting grim due to the lack of actual balancing. Noting 2 specific balance issues: \- The non kMS classes balance patch is still not here. The big balance patch that gutted most support (which was widely asked for even by me as a bishop main) was fast tracked. Not only did they not fast track the -11% HP nerf, which definitely meant something for endgame bosses, but they also did not touch the non kMS. The 'we need a bishop to clear' vibe just turned into 'we need a lynn to clear'. Very poor balancing which shows a clear lack of understanding of the game. \- Heroic still struggles with the EXP curve. 285 to 290 is an insane grind which most people won't even attempt to do. Talahart will be released today, which will be 290 content. For kMS, it's not out of place. Their EXP curve is the same, but they can pay to multiply their rewards from Epic Dungeons for example. It doesn't look like much, but in the end it all ends up. This system works in kMS due to how Maple Points are integrated into the servers and widely available. This system would never work in Heroic. This leaves us however with a big gap in EXP income. \- I'm not even going to get started on fams. We all know how bad that problem is, but gMS just does not seem to care. What did we get though? We got Ride or Die, which is gMS specific content. I do like the lab block, but the event itself was in my opinion lackluster. To add on to it that kMS events are totally fine, so to me this event was more of a showoff to shareholders instead of actually something for the playerbase. Go West should be tackling the balancing issues first. At this point it just feels like they have no clue what they're doing and are completely disconnected from the playerbase. They actually look more black than the off-black finish that the Orleans model is. Probably due to my tendency to over edit 😅 this is by far my favorite pair of Doc shoes besides the Quad Max Lime/Green, or the Church Quad monkey shoes. I'm not sure if this is an unpopular opinion, but I have been encountering more cheating this wipe than I can remember in recent years. This made me start thinking about the cheating problem and I'm honestly starting to think the only solution is for the devs to add deterrents like phone number account verification to make it harder for people to access the game after receiving a ban. In the past week alone, I've had 3 blatant encounters with cheaters. One was with an EOD user who had 9 hours played. I'm still enjoying the game but it certainly takes a lot of the fun out of raids. Moving to area, wondering about train horn frequency in Browne's Addition
Seeing as the trains go right next to several intersections in Browne's Addition, I am quite worried about the noise as a light sleeper. Does anybody in the area have a sense of how often the trains move through that area (peak times) and if the horns impact your quality of life?  This logo is not being used to its full potential, and this has shown since its first appearance on Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. First appearance: we see The Bad Guys, Toothless, Po, Boss Baby, Poppy, and Shrek/Donkey/Fiona, but... Madagascar is missing. Madagascar is one of DreamWorks' core-four franchises (including Shrek/KFP/HYTTD). It makes sense to have The Bad Guys in there because that was a new success for the studio in 2022, and I don't mind Trolls or The Boss Baby being noted in the logo, and it makes sense for those to be in the logo too, as they are successful DWA franchises. However, Madagascar's absence is perplexing. It was stated that character appearances would change (save for "[maybe](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-features/dreamworks-animation-moon-child-curtain-raiser-1235269225/#:~:text=All%20%E2%80%94%20minus-,maybe,-Shrek%2C%20says%20Cronkhite)" Shrek), but DreamWorks is doing the bare minimum with that. To start, let's look at the film after The Last Wish: Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken. The logo is the *exact* same as it was in its first appearance (minus the transition to jellyfish). However, I'm giving RGTK the benefit of the doubt, as that film didn't have a smooth production. With that in mind, I assume that changing character appearances wouldn't have been a great idea - as this logo was done in-house, it took eight months to do with a team of 10–40 people. If, character appearance changing was decided for RGTK (hypothetically speaking), that means more time would have to be carved out for the execution of that. However, the film after RGTK was Trolls Band Together. It starts off just like TLW and RGTK with The Bad Guys and Toothless, but in place of Po, we get *Alex and Marty* (WTF?!). Next, we get Eep (in place of Boss Baby), and Puss in Boots (in place of Poppy (because why would she be in the logo when she's in her own film?)) before we get to Shrek/Donkey/Fiona. This was an improvement compared to RGTK's logo (I still like the transition to jellyfish). After this variant's debut on TBT, I figured that character appearances would change every two films, but I was wrong. This variant would be used on Kung Fu Panda 4 and The Wild Robot. I would bring up Orion and the Dark but that had a nice special variant of its own without appearances from other DWA characters. It wasn't until Dog Man where new characters would appear... Roz/Brightbill (in place of The Bad Guys) and Gingy with Shrek/Donkey/Fiona. Other than that, Puss, Eep, Alex/Marty, and Toothless still remain. Now I haven't seen Dog Man yet, but I did see the logo on YouTube (I perused through it actually but I still noticed the character appearances, and I perused through it again while writing this post). There's a big problem: DreamWorks is not doing much with character appearances in this logo. However, I don't expect characters from Aardman's films to appear because they're stop-motion (with the exception of the CGI Flushed Away) or Ruby Gillman/anyone from her movie to appear because her movie flopped. But on a side note, I wondered how characters from DWA's 2D movies would be implemented (particularly with 2D animation and 2D animation only; I would hate to see Moses in 3D in this logo)).
